A Magnificent Movie Day Made Easy In A Kids Playhouse

Your child’s kids playhouse will be the hottest and coolest playhut on the block when it’s converted into the neighborhood movie theater. It will turn any day into a fun and kid-friendly cinema day where children can enjoy and hang out with their friends. Here are the steps to make this successful:

Make up a favorite movie survey and poll the neighborhood kids who will be coming to the event. This will help to determine which films to rent or purchase for the movie event.

Use a photo or hand drawing of your child’s kids playhouse to make creative and movie themed invitations! Give the playhouse a name and make a sign like “Jason’s Movie Playhouse” or “Kerry’s Playhouse Cinema” to make it feel more authentic.

Snacks during the movie can be available for either free or to sell. Examples of kid-sized snacks include small boxes of raisins, dry cereal, cups of popcorn, juice boxes, and small baked goods like chocolate chip cookies or rice krispie treats. Kids love to sell things so if they decide to have a concession stand, make sure they price the goodies all at the same price to make it simple.

You will need a projector, DVD player or laptop computer to play the movie.Have an older sibling or young adult available to play the movies.  Don’t forget about seating. Determine whether the children will sit on the floor or in chairs. Regardless, make sure that the kids are comfortable.Plan ahead for bathroom breaks or an intermission so that the “good” parts of the movie aren’t misssed!

The kids playhouse should be off-limits to adults.  Adults can be stationed outside of the playhouse for support and assistance. Remember, it’s all about the kids and their movie day. If they want to watch a specific scene of th movie over and over again, then let them have their say! So…lights, playhouse, action!
