What I Experienced While Pregnant For The First Time; This May Be Useful To Other Pregnant Women

While being pregnant for the very first time I really did not have any idea of what the months ahead would bring me. I found out rather quickly. During the first trimester nothing changed. I woke some mornings with a little morning sickness and that was about it. During the second trimester I started to fill out in my belly area and could not get in to any of the clothes I had. I decided it was time to go shopping at a store that sold maternity wear.

I did not want to buy maternity clothes, I had been putting it off as long as I could. I just knew that I would not find anything that had style and I did not want to look like a fat woman in a potato sack. I could not believe my eyes when I got to the store. There were so many beautiful stylish clothes for pregnant women. They looked like clothes I would buy even if I was not pregnant.

I could not believe that I could still stay in style while I was pregnant. I was only in my second trimester so I didn’t by too much right then, just a couple of out fits. To hold me over until I got so big I would need a lot more clothes.

By the third trimester I had actually been back twice to buy more maternity clothes and was on my way there again. I loaded up on clothes and even bought several outfits for me to wear once I had the baby. I knew that getting in to my old clothes was out of the question at least for a month or so.

When I was in my eighth month I decided that we needed to finish all the shopping so we could have the nursery ready when the time came to bring home my beautiful baby. We learned early on that we were having a girl. I had to buy everything girlie that I could. We found a lot of beautiful little girl clothes.

There was a ladybug baby bedding set that I saw and just had to have. So I bought it and we headed home with all of our new things. Once we got home it was time to put everything were it went. The nursery looked adorable once we put the ladybug bedding on it.

A month later I went in labor and my gorgeous daughter was born. A few days later when we were trying to get ready to head home with our baby I was dressing her in one of the cutest outfits I had bought for her and it was just too big. I actually had to put her in the sleepwear we brought with us since nothing else would fit her. She wore nothing but sleepers for the first four weeks she was home. She was just such a small baby that nothing else would fit her. The point is you may think you are prepared but when your baby arrives you will never be prepared again.
